Reach Out and Read, Northeast is proud to partner with the Overdeck Family Foundation to ensure that our program reaches as many children served by FQHCs as possible. The Foundation has made it possible for us to offer FQHCs an expedited application process and enhanced financial and technical support.

Reach Out and Read’s National Center uses a single application for all kinds of pediatric primary care sites. Some of the questions on that application do not apply to Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Maine is home to more than 60,000 children under age 5. For the past 23 years, another literacy program, Raising Readers met most of their early literacy needs. That program ended in March, 2024. We are working to ensure that early literacy and relational health promotion continue to be an integral part of pediatric primary care in the state.
